About The Ark
Welcome to The Ark. What is The Ark? Well, primarily it’s a repository of cinematic reviews, musings and assorted other junk. That much is obvious, seeing as it is hosted on a film blog site. I daresay it may also be subjected to various other tidbits of nonsense that aren’t cinema-related.
It takes its name from the general idea, biblical in origin of course, that an Ark is a vessel (though this particular vessel surfs the digital seas), safely stowing precious cargo: namely, my thoughts, hopes and dreams concerning the world of film. The moniker was also inspired by two great Arks of my youth: the Ark that was Raided by the coolest archaeologist in the world, Indiana Jones; and the spacecraft called The Ark that transported my childhood obsession, the Transformers, to our little planet.
The Ark is a personal experiment really - is a blog written by me interesting? Do I find it worthwhile? And is it of any interest (even interest of the faint, vaguely amused kind) to anyone else? I hope so - let’s find out!
