It was also my first bollywood movie dat I watch prior to kkhh I use to think bollywood movies were so corny and lame but kkhh changed my mind. Yes the actual story line was a bit cheesy but it was done so brillantly that the audience completely just goes with the flow. The performances of the actors were amazing as mention especially Kajol as Anjali she was terrific, she made me feel every emotion with Anjali, I cried with her, I laughed with her, her heartbreak was palpable. Kajol is such an amazing actresss, she truly is magic on screen. I agree that Karan Johar's later movies certainly did not live up to KKHH. KKHH had this honesty and charm dat the new movies lack. I did like k3g( but only the first half). KKHH remains an absolute classic. As for the current bollywood movies, with their total rip-off's of hollywood movies, and actresses who certainly dont have the charm and talent of the likes of Kajol and rani, Im back to my opinion that bollywood is a waste I'll stick to hollywood however KKHH remains imperfectly PERFECT!!!. LOVE IT.

I'm on commenting on this old post because I liked it too, but I would label is as a good 'time-pass' as they would say in India :) Rani is a beautiful and versatile actress and its always a pleasure to watch her and I think Shahid has an excellent potential (I loved him in Jab We Met and I have kept an eye on him since).

Great post. I really liked this movie too - as well as (like Jabno) Chandni Chowk to China. I think Rani Mukerjee is a wonder and can't understand why she seems to draw so many snarky reviews and comments. (As do so many of the films I like; glad to find bloggers, at least, who share my appreciation for some of these. Conversely, I cannot understand why some of the hits are hits!) I hope Rani will get more good roles for as long as she wants, because I'm sure she can handle anything she takes on.

I'm glad you liked it, I enjoyed it too. I felt Rani and Shahid shared a great chemistry despite the age difference- which isn't that big anyway!

I personally really enjoyed the Veera-Rohan scenes the most.

Well, I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure I'll like it!
Yours was the first positive review of DBH I've read and it just confirms my first impression. It's probably quite good, the problem is that people expect "younger" actresses playing this sort of role. But seriously - how old is 31?

Oh, I also loved you calling Rani "Bollywood’s Miss Dependable". She really is.
