4.5/10 is generous!

Honestly, an awful film, which manages to make Hostel II look good. Compared with this, Vacancy was a minor classic, and in fact it has all the suspense that this one lacks. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

As for the ending, I had long stopped bothering by that point, so I missed the bit where it picked up a little. Despite this, I can't see myself returning to it.

I also liked SM3 more than most people too (reviewed it on my own page when it came out), plus I agree about one point in particular: trying to pack too many villains into one film. It seems to afflict almost all superhero movies as sequels pile up (villain number seems to be some sort of multiplication of the sequel number - there's an equation in there somewhere). That's one of the things that originally brought the Batman films down (apart from Joel Schumacher that is...)

Glad you appreciate Batman Returns too.

Die Hard 3 was technically better than the 2nd, although I've enjoyed them all (looking forward to seeing Die Hard 4 soon).

I actually thought the third Die Hard was pretty good, myself. It was the second one I didn't like - it was almost identical to the first at times!

Anyway, I'm quite looking forward to this one after reading a few good reviews. I have to admit I assumed the worst when it was announced...
