Thank you Michael; that's expunged the desire for the R1 'Quiller' - I'll stick with Network's R2.

Comment on PowerDVD HD - finally by Michael Mackenzie

Yeah, I think you're right. I've been getting my wires crossed due to the amount of misinformation spreading about, due to the fact that virtually everyone who has the HD/BD versions of PowerDVD and WinDVD seems to be using a hacked copy.

Not sure about screen capturing in PowerDVD Ultra, although it's fairly easy to work around these limitations by simply making sure that another device is using the overlay before you start the program (e.g. open an AVI in Media Player, then run PowerDVD). This forces PowerDVD to render the video in software as part of the primary viewing area, meaning that the printscreen function should work as normal. Of course, it will probably be unplayably slow for HD material, but it serves the purpose for obtaining screen captures.

I think it was only WinDVD v8 HD/BD (Japanese only release last time I checked) that downscaled to 960x540. The PowerDVD 6 HD Beta seemed to output the full-res when I checked it out. Sadly it completely disabled the capture function (even disabled Print Screen).

Any idea if this final version of PowerDVD HD allows screen captures?

My second favourite film of the year, so we'll agree to disagree on this one Michael :)

Incidentally, if you want rid of it then give me a shout ;)

I'm with you on Looney Tunes (these collections are becoming a Christmas staple for me too), but I have to stick up for the Road Runner cartoons. Forumalaic, yes, but I loved them as a kid and they remain among my faves. I hope we get some Bugs Bunny vs Marvin the Martian this time too.

***** SPOILERS *****

Yeah, while watching the finale I had a sneaking suspicion that it would have flowed better had they had a couple more episodes to set it up. Likewise, I wasn't very sure about the idea to turn Irina Derevko evil again - as with Sloane's betrayal, it felt like one twist too many.

And it continues to amaze me that they managed to kill off six regular or semi-regular characters in the space of a single season!

Glad I'm not the only one who thought season 5 was a welcome return to form. Although I found the series finale itself a little rushed (no doubt due to the episode order having being cut), it was still great to see the show recover the momentum so late in its run.
