					<description>Thanks for mentioning the 'pea' scene - as you say, always makes me smile. I think this is a great Holmes movie, even if Plummer and Mason probably didn't need to be Holmes and Watson in this story and could have played any fictional detective of the era. Plummer isn't all that Holmesian when it comes down to it, though I'd agree it makes his climactic speech all the more powerful for being so unexpected. 

When I looked the Anchor Bay R1 was actually a little bit cheaper than the R2, and contained more extras. Whatever I choose, I'm sure it'll be a good purchase. Thanks for the review- an extremely fair treatment.</description>

					<description>Personally i prefer the R1 as it also contains a commentry.as much as i like the Brett Version i've always had a soft spot for Plummer/Mason .its just a shame that they didn't team up for another film.</description>
