Mind you, he was very effective, not to mention affecting, in 'The Ox-Bow Incident'. He's a good actor but some actors just don't seem quite right for certain genres and Mature always looks out of place in horse operas (Dana Andrews is another actor who doesn’t do it for me in westerns).
