I steered clear of this series after seeing the trailers - all I could think was “Wow, this show wants to be Angel so badly it hurts.” I struggle to imagine how this was pitched to management: “Let’s do Angel, only set it in Cardiff!” Let’s just say that initial viewer reactions haven’t exactly encouraged me to give it a shot.

They could set it in Neasden for all I care, it wouldn’t alter the fact that it’s moving wallpaper aimed squarely at hormone rich teenies, and even on that level it’s condescending crap.

It makes me laugh that Cap’n Jack is a completely different character to the cheeky chappy in Doctor Who (although in all honesty he was annoying in that series too).

I should point out, I have no objection to the Cardiff setting that seems to be really irritating some people - I just wish it was given a better showcase than this third rate toss.

Precisely; unfortunately Mrs H now has a thang for Cap’n Jack and will not hear a word said against it. Good job she can’t hear me tapping out the words ‘total and complete bollocks.’

I’m struggling to think of something - anything - postive to say about it. Nope, I give up…
