We’re giving away 1 £100 Amazon.co.uk voucher to the owner of what we consider to be the best journal on the site on 31st January 2007. We’ll be looking at a number of factors when judging what is the best journal, so read the following pointers to help you stand a chance of winning:

1. Regular updates - you might have written the best film essay of your life back in August, but if it’s fallen so far down the site that no-one knows it’s there then it’s probably not much use! Instead ensure that your journal is updated regularly with quality content to encourage vistors to keep coming back

2. Quality content - it’s all well and good updating your journal every day, but unless you ensure that the content is good people will quickly start avoiding you. We won’t include articles you’ve written on ohter sites when checking your blog out, so simple links to other articles won’t be enough!

3. Originality - there are lots of general film discussion journals here, however the best ones tend to focus on particular areas of cinema. If you’re more interested in a general journal then it’s a good idea to have something original to say about the films you discuss. Think of something unique to make you stand out from the crowd!

We’ll also consider popularity of journals and the quality of the writing - so if you know your spelling and grammar are problematic, make sure you read your entries over more than once to remove any obvious problems.

The winner will be picked on 31st January - we’ll consider new blogs added right up until that date, but the sooner you sign up, the more chance you have of building an area with a reasonable amount of acceptable content.

The winner will be informed by email within 7 days of the 31st January. No cash alternative is available and the judges decision is final.
