Potter, Pan, and Han shooting first September 18, 2008

I may still be six reviews behind on 2008, but it’s been a while since my last 2007 update (almost 3 months, in fact!), so here are ten more reviews from 100 Films’s first year.

Among those we’ve got my thoughts on George Lucas’ latest fiddlings with the original Star Wars trilogy (I hope he’s not done, because so many of his fixes need fixing); the disastrous and disappointing Thunderbirds remake; and the second of Clint Eastwood’s Iwo Jima pair. Quite why the latter has a 4 attached is a bit beyond me now — I didn’t think much of it and certainly didn’t rate it that highly on other websites. But, true to form, the score remains.

- C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America (2004)
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)
- Letters From Iwo Jima (2006)
- Pan’s Labyrinth (2006)
- Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope - DVD Edition (1977/2004)
- Star Wars - Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back - DVD Edition (1980/2004)
- Star Wars - Episode VI: Return of the Jedi - DVD Edition (1983/2004)
- Stranger Than Fiction (2006)
- Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny (2006)
- Thunderbirds (2004)

I’ve also posted the first ever 100 Films Special, in which I watched (and reviewed) all six Star Wars films in numerical order over one weekend. You can read my thoughts on each film (including different reviews of the original trilogy to those listed above), as well as my thoughts on how the series gels as a whole, here.

Until my next 2007 update…

(I suppose that sentence ends, “…I’ll post reviews from 2008″.)
